black paint? We have black paint. Yards and yards of
it. This sure is one big, black locomotive. And there is
red paint under the masking paper.
Masking the frame door latches is a real pain in the butt. They are masked first with a 1/8" plastic tape followed by a 1/2" plastic tape and finished off with regular masking tape. Then, the break red/black break line is masked with the 1/2" plastic tape. With the exception of the fireman's side front step and the front pilot, the frame painting is complete. There is touchup work to do but from a distance, it looks pretty good. Next week, Phil will be working on painting the fireman's side hand rails and we will re-install the rear cut levers. --- Howard Click on any thumbnail
