-- Earlier in the week, Phil and removed the paint from the nose. It was about to fall off anyway so we just assisted it. Today was a
good day. Aw heck, it was great! We now have numbers on one
side of the cab. Using the same process as on the long hood end
number, paint masking tape is put on the metal, the stencils are put in
position and the numbers traced to the masking tape. The numbers
are cut out with an Exacto blade and then the surrounding area is
masked. Southern Pacific Lettering Gray is applied and left to
cure for a few hours. When the masking tape is removed, we have
numbers. I also managed to prime the short hood just ahead of the
cab door. Next week, we will tackle more of the short hood and
perhaps, more lettering.
